Depending on your need and the end objective, for an existing customer, you would collect historical data, market data, his payment patterns, his defaults and the delays if any. For a new customer it will primarily be the market data, data from research agencies, stock valuations, stock price fluctuations etc.

As an advanced service, you may build a model based on risk factors, weights of each of the factors (which may vary from client to client), to predict the stability, credit standing and risks involved in dealing with this customer. Interesting, isn’t it?
